Lines in the Sand

"If you don't pick your priorities,

the world will pick them for you."

"If you don't draw your boundaries,

the world will draw them for you."

Crouching down near the ground,

With a finger I drew —

Lines in the sand.

But the wind came and blew,

Passer-bys trampled over them with their shoes.

I sighed, and redrew

My lines in the sand.
